DUE to inclement weather conditions that continued for a couple of days, balls could not roll on the ground for the Bangladesh Premier League. As a result, matches were rescheduled and according to changed schedule matches resumed from November 8.Â
The BPL captured the attention of the cricket-hungry spectators of the country from the first day. We now see everywhere people throng around television sets to have a glimpse of the proceedings of a match on TV or listening to radio for commentary. We saw craze for cricket taking over in the country following the England tour and more so among the youth. Chittagong Vikings and Dhaka Dynamites have started their BPL 2016 journey with a win and they have beaten Comilla Victorians and Barisal Bulls respectively. As the weather is getting better with time, we can expect to see excitement and pleasure in the upcoming matches. My friends and relatives living abroad are equally excited to see the BPL game and they keep calling me for results. It bears ample testimony to the fact that BPL matches are not restricted to our country alone, but much beyond that.Â
